Abstract: Introduction into the semiotics of culture as a method for describing and comparing sign systems constitutive for a given cultural form and/or practice. Discussion of central notions for describing and understanding lifeworlds (i.e. of "environments" formed and inhabited by a social actor) in a multicultural context. Group work in form of scientific reports dedicated to the understanding of a specific lifeworld of a social actor and using the methodological framework presented in the online lectures.
